Two alleged Rohingya drug peddlers were killed during a shootout with the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Naikhyangchhari upazila of Bandarban early Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Md Jubayer, 28 and Din Mohammad, 25.

Lt. Colonel Ali Haider Azad Ahmed, captain of BGB-34 confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The BGB recovered 1 lakh Yaba pills, two arms and four round cartridges from their possessions, he said.

BGB claimed that the deceased were involved in drug peddling and the gunfight took place at 1:30 am in the area.
